Justin Timberlake Talks Turner Sports

(6/9/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- Justin Timberlake recently joined Turner Sports as a special correspondent. The *NSYNC singer-turned solo artist will try his hand at reporting--as soon as he has a free moment. Timberlake launched his Justified & Stripped tour with Christina Aguilera this week, so he has plenty of concert dates in front of him to keep him busy.
The singer, who is a big fan of basketball, said that eventually he'll be covering NBA events. "Well, that kind of gets in where it can fit in,” Timberlake said. “You know there's nothing really to prepare, you know. I think just kind of being a fan of the NBA and kind of watching--I think that's what they wanted me to kind of liaison and do stuff like that."
Timberlake will also be seen at NASCAR, and professional golf tournaments in the future. So, what does Timberlake have to offer sports fans? He said he's hoping to bring his own unique sense of humor and love of the game to the job. "I think it just brings more of a voice that isn't so technical, or makes people think about stats and stuff,” Timberlake said. “It kind of just brings a little more fun into the commentator field. I think that's kind of what I have to offer."
