Justin Timberlake Justifies 'Justified'

(10/25/02, 12 p.m. ET) - Justin Timberlake is on a huge promotional campaign. The *NSYNC singer is taking his thoughts and feelings about his Jive Records solo debut, Justified, to national media outlets in an effort to whip up the kind of frenzy that typically surrounds an *NSYNC album release.

During the course of his career, Timberlake has danced on stage with Michael Jackson, performed in sold-out concert tours, and won hundreds of awards as one-fifth of *NSYNC. However, this project is a bit different, even for a seasoned pro like him.

Timberlake told LAUNCH that promoting his own album by himself has not been an easy task. "As far as promoting the record without the guys, it's strange," he said, adding: "It's a lot more personal and, obviously--because for some reason the tabloids have grabbed a hold of me in the past year--it becomes a little annoying, the fact that people just want to ask personal questions. And I'm kinda, like, 'Hey, I've got a record coming out, too.' I mean, I get it. I understand that that's just something that comes along with it, and I'm cool with it."

Timberlake added that the entire process of "going solo" has really been very educational: "You know, this is all a learning experience for me. I've already said some things that I shouldn't have said. I already may have done some things that I shouldn't have done, but you know what? I don't care. I think everybody has a path, and this is the way I wanted to express it."

Although he has a wealth of experience under his cap, the 21-year-old singer is quite humble about both his musical career and his personal life. "I mean, for me, I'm human like everybody else," he said. "I make mistakes and I know it."

Timberlake co-wrote all of the songs on Justified. The album's complete tracklisting includes "Senorita," "Like I Love You," "(Oh No) What You Got," "Take It From Here," "Cry Me A River," "Rock Your Body," "Nothin' Else," "Last Night," "Still On My Brain," "(And She Said) Take Me Now," "Right For Me," "Let's Take A Ride," and "Never Again."

Timberlake's upcoming television appearances include NBC's The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Thursday (October 31) and ABC's 20/20 on November 6.
