The opening number of the Video Music Awards is a big deal, so Lady Gaga is making sure she gives a performance to remember. MTV announced that the pop singer will kick off music's big show by taking the stage to belt out "Applause," the first single from her highly anticipated album Artpop, at Brooklyn's Barclay Center Lady Gaga is not a happy camper. The singer tweeted in response to a decision by a judge to sentence Bradley Manning to 35 years in prison for leaking classified documents to WikiLeaks. She said "The news of Bradley Manning's sentencing is devastating. If our own can't speak up about injustice who will? How will we ever move forward?"
