Avril Lavigne and her reality star boyfriend Brody Jenner were the victims of a vicious attack last night after the pair were reportedly assaulted by a group of five people as they left Los Angeles' Roosevelt Hotel. "I don't fight. I don't believe in it. To clear things up I got attacked by 5 people last night out of nowhere. Not cool. My face is f-----," the Canadian singer tweeted early this morning. "As in black eye, bloody nose, hair ripped out, scratches, bruises and cuts. So not ok to be abusive to others. Violence is NEVER the answer." Jenner added that he "just got of the hospital with a new scar on my face" following the incident. TMZ writes that Jenner was smashed in the face with a bottle. (Earlier in the evening, Jenner tweeted, "Having the best night with the love of my life @AvrilLavigne so happy right now!!" Talk about unhappy endings.)
The incident is very similar to when singer Gavin Degraw was assaulted in New York City this past August. Like Lavigne, Degraw was leaving a bar -- the National Underground, which he co-owns -- in the wee hours of Monday morning when "a pack of thugs" attacked him in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Degraw's injuries also mirrored Avril's wounds: Black eyes, "cuts and bruises," and a bloodied nose, although in Gavin's case, his nose was broken. And in both cases, no arrests have been made: A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that they were aware of a "skirmish" outside the Roosevelt Hotel, but no suspects have been taken into custody at press time, Reuters reports.
