Pretend You Went to Outside Lands (And, Why Not, the Gathering of the Juggalos): Watch Videos!

This weekend our great nation played host to two very different events -- the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco, and Insane Clown Posse's Gathering of the Juggalos in Cave-in-Rock, Illinois. Reasons for failing to attend the former might include "I couldn't get out to Cali" while explanations for missing the latter were probably more like "I was scared." No worries, The Amplifier has all the video highlights from both fests, so you can tell your friends you booed Big Boi (who missed his Outside Lands set due to not wanting to perform "a half ass show"), threw Faygo at Charlie Sheen, and just barely made it back in time for work this morning.

Outside Lands

The Biggest Cross-Generational Collaboration: Arcade Fire's Win Butler joined living legend Mavis Staples for a stunning cover of the Band's "The Weight."

The Best Paranoia Rock: Muse's "Uprising" never fails to electrify and we have no idea why the San Fran crowd would feel paranoid (cough).

The Best Rookies: The Amp remains a big fan of U.K. trio the Joy Formidable -- check out Ritzy Bryan rocking out to "Whirring" and see why.

The Biggest Hippie Jam: This one's a gimme -- Vermont's finest cruising through one of their smoothest classics, "Suzy Greenberg."

The Best New Lineup: Meet the Shins 3.0 (Richard Swift, Joe Plummer, Yuuki Matthews, and Jessica Dobson) as they perform one of their catchiest singles, "Phantom Limb."

The Gathering of the Juggalos

The Best Performance: From what we can tell, this George Clinton spazz-out was the highlight of the Juggalo-a-thon. (From the perspective of non-Juggalos. We won't claim to know what the best Juggalo-centric moment was.)

The Most Untouchable Act: Juggalos dig MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This" just like everyone else on earth. Can't we all just get along?

The Most Winningest Target: Watch Charlie Sheen catch debris tossed at his head by angry Juggalos! To be fair, he was battered with far less crap than Tila Tequila was last year and he has played a baseball player before. Guess ICP were mostly right about Sheen being safe at their little confab.
