Here's the new video for the Red Hot Chili Peppers' ridiculously titled "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie," but FYI, due to a last-minute change in director, it's not the video you were expecting. The video itself is just the Peppers' version of the Beatles' rooftop Let It Be concert, but transplanted from Apple Studios on Savile Row to scenic Venice Beach. In addition to showcasing new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, bouncy dance moves, and ideal California weather, Anthony Kiedis also scores some extra cool points -- not like he needed them -- for wearing an Off! hat, a nod to the hardcore punk band featuring members of fellow Los Angeles legends Black Flag, Circle Jerks, and Redd Kross.

However, the big news with this video is who didn't direct it. It was previously reported that Oakland rapper Kreayshawn, she of "Gucci Gucci" fame, was recruited by the Peppers to film the "Rain Dance Maggie" video. However, music video vet Marc Klasfeld is credited with directing the one that premiered today. An Amp friend who worked on the RHCP shoot said that Kreayshawn did initially film the video, but for lack of a better word, the result was a "disaster," and Klasfeld was called in for this final product. Or as Flea diplomatically put it on Twitter, "for those asking, the kreayshawn vid just didnt work out, that happens sometimes, i think kreayshawn is awesome and a great artist." We love train wrecks, so hopefully Kreayshawn's vision for "Rain Dance" sees the light of day.
