Witness Freddie Gibbs Recording His New Mixtape Tonight

Curren$y used Ustream to sync up his album Weekend at Burnie's with cinematic masterpiece Weekend at Bernie's, and now another member of hip-hop's young elite has wonderful plans for the live-streaming site: Gary, Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs is going to showcase a marathon recording session tonight that'll result in his next mixtape.

Starting at 6 p.m. EST, Gibbs will broadcast live from the Brooklyn studio of producer DJ Statik Selektah, where the duo will lay down all of the tracks from Gibbs' next mixtape Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away. XXL, who are sponsoring the whole shebang, is promising "a slew of special guests" will drop by for the proceedings.

Can't watch Gibbs work his magic for some lame reason like The Voice is on? No problem, Gibbs will release Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away on iTunes Friday, June 24th. In case you need more reasons to witness Gibbs' session, just check out his verse on Curren$y's "Scottie Pippen." It kicks in at 1:36, and it's easily one of the best of 2011 so far:
