Good News Update! This Band’s Good Deed for a Fan Paid Off

Now this is good karma! Last month, we covered the heartwarming story of indie band Jared & The Mill playing an intimate show in a hospital room for fan Mason Endres, 18, who was badly injured when she was struck by a drunk driver at South by Southwest.

It looks like doing good things leads to more good things, as the folk rock group recently announced that they've been asked to join disco legend Barry Gibb on his upcoming arena tour!

"We're awfully excited to hit the road with such an accomplished musician, Barry Gibb, who knows the ins and outs of this industry, and I'm really excited to work with a man as talented and practiced as he is," the band's lead singer Jared Kolesar tells the Good News blog. "We've been practicing like crazy and it's always exciting to be able to present our work, especially to those who have not yet heard it."

In even better news, the band's superfan Mason is doing well in her recovery. She not only got to attend her prom, but was voted Prom Queen! She'll graduate high school in June and is headed to the University of Texas in the fall.

Mason needs two more surgeries on both knees, but being confined to a wheelchair hasn't stopped her from attending live shows. "Music is a true healer for her," says her mother.
