On the Record: Mick Jones on Hitting the Road With Foreigner, Peace Talks With Lou Gramm During the L.A. Riots, and Hating Olivia Newton-JohnSuzy Byrne at Yahoo Music3 days ago
"Feels Like the First Time" appropriately introduced the world to Foreigner — nearly four decades ago. While the band, helmed by Mick Jones, has gone through changes over the years, they're still making music and, this spring, touring.
Their Soundtrack of Summer Tour reunites them with Styx with The Eagles's Don Felder rounding out the lineup. They'll release a compilation album to accompany the tour, which kicks off in the U.S. on May 14, and it will include a new version of "Hotel California," which Felder co-wrote, that the co-headliners recently recorded.

Christine McVie is going to make touring fun for Fleetwood Mac.
Earlier this year, it was confirmed that the 70-year-old songstress and keyboard player would be rejoining the band she left in 1998 after a nearly 30-year run. Today, the group announced that they will be going on a world tour — with Christine — kicking off this summer, and shared that a new album may be in the works.
The big news broke on the "Today" show Thursday with Carson Daly sitting down with Christine, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and Stevie Nicks in Los Angeles to talk about their upcoming On With the Show Tour. It kicks off on Sept. 30 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will hit 33 cities in North America. The band will also appear on the "Today" show on Oct. 9 to perform.

Robin Thicke is not ready to walk away from his marriage — as he told the audience at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia, on Thursday night.
Taking the stage for the first time since he and his actress wife, Paula Patton, announced their separation, the crooner talked about his marital problems and dedicated his performance of "Lost Without U" to her.
"For those of you who don't know, my wife and I got separated a few days ago," the "Blurred Lines" singer told the crowd. "But I want everybody here to know: I'm trying to get my girl back."
In a YouTube clip of the moment, you can hear someone say, "That's brave," as he gets candid with the crowd, and the audience screams wildly when he says he's not giving up on his marriage.

"Never a Dull Moment" is right.
Tommy Lee is ready to take his fourth trip to the altar. Complete with a diamond ring emoticon, the Mötley Crüe drummer, 51, announced on Twitter Monday night that he is engaged to 30-year-old German singer and dancer SOFI.

There comes a time in a mans life when you just know your partner is for LIFE!! Say hello to my fiancé and soon to be wife @SOFIofficial 💍
SOFI, whose real name is Sofia Toufa, took to being a fiancée pretty quickly.
I'm something that rhymes with Beyonce!!!!! 💍
The Beyoncé reference is especially appropriate because SOFI started her career in the group Danacee, which was a supporting act for… Destiny's Child. (She was also a backup singer for Britney Spears.)

Justin Bieber may soon have some competition for studio time.
Early Friday morning, the 19-year-old "Bad Day" singer posted an Instagram video of his mother, Pattie Mallette, showing off her vocal chops —and, while we only saw few seconds of her musical offerings, she was actually pretty good.
It all started with this tweet, which Bieber blasted out to his nearly 50 million followers, presumably from his new Atlanta rental home, which is owned by music producer Dallas Austin. In it, he hinted that it took a little persuading to get the 37-year-old in front of the mic. But Beliebers seemed to like what they saw — the video itself had 405,000 likes in just two hours and "Pattie" was soon trending on Twitter.
Got my moms courage enough to get in the booth for the first time she sounds so good :) http://t.co/fL8NbthGnd
Mallette was in a celebratory mood after her performance:

Even Mick Jones gets nostalgic about "Yesterday."
The Foreigner guitarist, songwriter, and record producer is gearing up for a tour — it was announced Tuesday his band will hit the road with Styx and The Eagles's Don Felder this spring — but he reminisced about his early days in the business when he was the opening act for… the Beatles?! Yep, right before the Fab Four touched down at JFK Airport — 50 years ago this week — they spent three weeks in Paris with a teenage Mick.
"I was just thinking: 50 years ago today, I was saying goodbye to the Beatles," he told Yahoo when we interviewed him in New York City on Wednesday. "I was 18 or 19. I had spent three weeks with them in Paris as they were preparing to come to the United States for 'The Ed Sullivan Show.'"

Turns out, they weren’t the only ones.
Headliner Bruno Mars had help with his performance as well, "The Insider With Yahoo" has learned. However, it's also the norm for that particular high-profile gig.

Trace Adkins had a big sea adventure he won't soon forget — as much as he may want to.
The singer was the headlining act on a country music-themed cruise that left Miami on Sunday and arrived in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on Wednesday. Along the way, he reportedly clashed with a Trace Adkins impersonator, who was singing karaoke at a bar on the ship when things turned physical.
Following the sea scuffle, Adkins — who has battled alcohol addiction, but had been sober for a decade — arrived in Jamaica and was quickly whisked off to rehab.
"Trace has entered a treatment facility after a setback in his battle with alcoholism," his rep tells Yahoo. "As he faces these issues head on, we ask that his family's privacy will be respected."
Despite the reported drama, a spokesperson for Country Cruising says the situation is being blown out of proportion. And they would be happy to have Adkins back to entertain again in the future.

It was 1983 when David Ellefson, an 18-year-old Minnesota farm boy with a love of rock 'n' roll and talent for the bass, moved to Los Angeles and knocked on his neighbor Dave Mustaine's door because "he looked like a rock 'n' roll guy." He was right, and Mustaine, who had just been booted out of Metallica, and Ellefson formed Megadeth.
Three decades later — and more than 20 million albums sold worldwide — the celebrated metal band is still rocking … to the delight of headbangers everywhere.
Ellefson visited Yahoo Studios in New York to talk about his new book, "My Life With Deth." It's his story of the band — from being christened "Junior" and their early days of being homeless aspiring rock stars to his dark period of battling addiction and then coming out the other side with a newfound sense of faith. The tome also includes his run-ins with rock stars beyond Mustaine and their revolving crew of bandmates, like Slash, Nikki Sixx, and Steven Tyler, and the forward is written by Alice Cooper.

Katy Perry wasn't trying to offend anyone with her geisha look.
After the 29-year-old's performance Sunday at the American Music Awards was branded culturally insensitive, her stylist has come to her defense to explain the inspiration.
"Katy and I both love Japan," Johnny Wujek, who is also creative director of "America's Next Top Model," told E! News. "The people are so kind, there's so much there visually. Just walking around, you feel something. We wanted to try and encompass that in the performance somehow, almost a tribute."
While he didn't address the backlash — or hint as to when Perry herself may speak out about it — he did say it wasn't an idea that popped up overnight. His teamed worked around the clock for four days leading up to the show to perfect Perry's look for her "Unconditionally" performance.
