The song is a mash-up of James Brown's "The Payback" and Tupac Shakur's "Untouchable," two of the great artists' lesser-known songs. "The Payback" was slated to appear in a 1973 blaxploitation film, Hell Up in Harlem, but the studio gave it a thumbs-down. "Untouchable" wasn't released until a decade after Tupac's death -- it appears on the Pac's Life LP.
Our frames, of course, feature Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson and the other stars of the movie. You're sure to enjoy this look back at one of the decade's great movies, as well as our captions, which are always worth the price of admission.
Important blog note! Framed will have to go on leave for several weeks and will return to Y! Music at the end of July. Once again, serious "business" calls us to the eastern United States, where we will meet with important people of all sorts.
In the meantime, we thought a limerick contest would be just the thing! We cordially invite you to write and post a quality limerick about Framed over the next several weeks. Nothing could be easier! Heck, we'll get the ball rolling with our own composition:
There was a young lady (unnamed)
Who studied the blog known as Framed
"Why, these captions, I see (said incredulously)
Have diminished, denounced and defamed."
See you in a bit!
1 -- "No, no! You put your right arm in and then shake it all about.""
2 -- "Don't shoot! This is only a music video!"
3 -- As per the song, Frosty would be back again someday. With no sense of smell whatsoever.
4 -- "I'm the king of the world! Whoo-hah-hoo! Er, where am I?"
5 -- "Slavery? Well, it'd be better if there was some opportunity for advancement."
6 -- "Why, if those smoke signals are correct, combustion is a form of rapid oxidation."
7 -- "Let me understand you. Supercuts rocks the cut?"
8 -- "Have they invented cameras already?"
9 -- "Remember, Santa said a red nose was a deal-breaker."
10 -- The rice was irredeemably burned! But Uncle Ben would be back!
11 -- "I applaud Br'er Rabbit! So he won again, did he?"
12 -- In horror, they watched as multiple forms of voter ID were submitted and rejected!
