The Aftermath Presents: Dee-1 Talks ‘Jay-Z, 50 & Weezy,’ Mannie Fresh And New Orleans

Former The Aftermath guest Dee-1 returned to the Yahoo! Music office for another good conversation about his work. One of the songs that put him on the map is "Jay-Z, 50 & Weezy," a track written as a hypothetical face-to-face discussion with each of the hip-hop moguls. Dee-1 explained how his previous profession as a school teacher inspired him to write the song.

Dee-1 actually had an opportunity to give a copy of the song to 50 Cent when the G-Unit head passed through Baton Rogue. Later, when Dee-1 traveled to New York, he was interviewed by the staff at 50's ThisIs50.com site.

Dee-1 credits former Cash Money Records producer Mannie Fresh with sharing with him industry secrets that he now applies to his music.
