‘Battlefield America’ Stars Impressed By Movie’s Child Dancers

"Battlefield America" stars Marques Houston and Chris Jones went head-to-head as dancers in the 2004 film "You Got Served." In their latest dance flick, they are again playing rivals, but this time they are coaching opposing teams of kids.

"It was cool to get back on screen together to have that animosity against each other," Houston said jokingly about reteaming with Jones for "Battlefield America."

During an exclusive video interview with The Aftermath, Houston and Jones said they were impressed by the young dance teams. "These kids dance like grown men," Jones said.

Aside from all the high energy battle scenes, there's a deeper story. Houston's character is a successful marketing executive whose traffic violations force him to complete community service — coaching the troubled youth. Houston's character not only hates kids, but he doesn't know how to dance. But in order to satisfy his community service requirement and return to work full-time, he has to figure it out.

Jones applauds the story for its balance. "It's gives you just enough dance and just enough story," he said. Adds Houston, "Yeah, it's not just kids dancing and being bad."

"Battlefield America" opens in movie theaters June 1 (Friday).

Written and directed by Chris Stokes, "Battlefield America" also stars Lynn Whitfield and Valarie Pettiford. It opens in theaters on June 1 (Friday).
