“My kids saved my life,” Fantasia says during Part 3 of her exclusive three-part interview with Yahoo! Music. “My kids, they’re the best things that ever happened to me. They are the reason why I am still here. They’re the reason why I’m still going, and why at this point I have such a peace about everything and I try not to let things get to me like they used to anymore.”

Her desire to support her children has had an impact on her health. During the promotion of Side Effects of You, Fantasia has been overloaded with compliments about how great she looks in a thinner frame and flattering fashion ensembles.

“I want to be around for a long time,” she explains. “So that means that I have to take care of my temple, take care of my body, and I wanted to look good as well.” In addition to changing her diet, the “Lose to Win” singer has also taken on an exercise regimen that includes boxing, boot camps, spinning and yoga. “I enjoy it now, at first, it was push and pull,” she says.

Even with all the great things in her life, Fantasia still has to deal with haters, mainly on sites like Instagram. But she has figured out a way to cope. “At this point, I see it as a joke. It’s like bullying,” she says. “It’s becoming a form of bullying. I always see it like, if there’s somebody taking the time to say something evil or say something mean, those are the people I pray for because 9 times out of 10 they are dealing with something themselves.”

Amen.
