Strong Arm Steady On ‘Stereotype’ Album, And Working With New West Coast MCs

Strong Arm Steady members Krondon and Phil The Agony visit The Aftermath, the best music discussion on the ‘net, to talk about their new album, Stereotype, explaining the title’s double meaning. The West Coast vets sometimes get pegged as gangsta rappers, so listeners will be surprised by the record. “It’s a representation of what you wouldn’t expect,” they said.

Krondon and Phil also give the background on teaming up with Statik Selektah, who produced the entire album. Originally, Statik was only going to work on one song, but the initial results were so good that they decided to do an entire album.

Stereotype features other heralded Cali kings Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul on the well-received collab, “Fair Fight.” The group wanted to acknowledge those up next. “My eyes were open to the streets and what was going on in my city,” Krondon said.
