Donald Trump 'Hopes to Run Against' Kanye West for President

Just as the 2016 presidential race starts heating up, now we have an even more bonkers 2020 to look forward to. After Kanye West’s WTF presidential announcement at Sunday’s VMAs, current presidential candidate Donald Trump weighed in on the news to Rolling Stone, saying, “He’s a nice guy. I hope to run against him someday."

If this bizarro 2020 race actually happens, Trump might have already lost a big name vote. In a video for Rolling Stone, Trump rambles, “Miley Cyrus said ‘I was going to vote for Trump but now I’m voting for [Kanye]’ so it sounded like she was all made up for me but he took her away.”

Cyrus seems unlikely to vote for Trump, but the bigger question is, depending on the outcome of the upcoming election, if Trump will run against Kanye as an incumbent or not.

Analytics company Echelon Insights even simulated a race in an online poll of 500 adults. They found that Trump would hypothetically win in 2020, although with 41% undecided it’s basically anyone’s game.
