Emma Stone Interpretive Dances the Hell Out of New Music Video, 'Anna'

Emma Stone might play a money-hungry passenger in her latest on-camera role, but she probably didn’t take the job for the paycheck.

The actress appears in a new music video called “Anna” from indie singer/songwriter Will Butler, of Arcade Fire fame. And in the video, Emma a.k.a. Anna, shows off some swaying, wobbly, possibly “Titanic”-inspired dance moves as the boat hits some choppy waters.

The mustachioed sailor dancing with Stone is choreographer Ryan Heffington, who recently made a splash with Sia’s “Chandelier” video. Both videos feature free-form, interpretive and highly expressive dancing – although in Emma’s case, she could probably blame it on nausea.

“Anna” was shot on the historic Queen Mary ocean liner and if the video ever veers into eerie or supernatural territory – like when Stone's character becomes increasingly unhinged – there’s good reason for it. Many claim the Queen Mary is haunted – or at least haunted enough to make a few bucks around Halloween.

This video for “Anna” isn’t the first to use interpretive dance, Will Butler’s original version showed off his own homegrown moves – without the creepy boat.

That’s our show today presented by Toyota but tonight we are streaming a very special show on the Live Nation channel on Yahoo. Just in time for throwback Thursday, Hanson is performing at 5:30 p.m. pacific time and you can relive all the classics, opinions may vary, right here.
