Iron Maiden Frontman Calls Lady Gaga 'Way Better' Than Madonna

Earlier this month, Lady Gaga had some very nice things to say about metal gods Iron Maiden, calling them “one of the greatest rock bands in history.” She also commented to CR Fashion Book on the knee-jerk comparisons made between her and Madonna, saying that she actually identifies more with Iron Maiden than the pop singer.

Recently, her flattering words got around to the band’s frontman, Bruce Dickinson, who commented on her comments – and also managed to take a dig at Madonna. He told Corus Radio, “I agree with her: she’s not the next Madonna; she’s way better than that, ‘cause, first of all, she can sing…”

But Dickinson wasn’t only impressed by Gaga’s voice, her legendary meat dress at the 2010 VMA’s also caught his eye. He said: “Anybody that could turn up to an awards ceremony dressed as a bacon sandwich gets my vote.”

This isn’t the first time Gaga has publicly declared her love for Iron Maiden. Back in 2011, during a SiriusXM interview she talked about seeing the band for the first time, and said that it “totally changed [her] life.”
