Musicians and Journalists React to SXSW Tragedy, Fund Set Up for Victims

For the tens of thousands of attendees at this year's South by Southwest music, film and interactive conference, the jovial atmosphere came to a halt when a drunk driver plowed through a crowd of people waiting outside the Mohawk concert venue on Wednesday night, killing two people and injuring 23.

The incident was particularly shocking for us, as we, like many other entertainment outlets, have a number of our own people roaming the Austin, Texas streets covering the happenings from music's best and brightest. But the music must go on, as SXSW organizers decided to keep calm and carry on with the live performances that brought worlds together this week.

A relief fund for the victims and their families has been set up at SXSWCares.com which "will help people affected by the tragic events of March 13, 2014 and future possible events."

Artists, celebs and those on the ground took to Twitter to express their sympathy for everyone affected by the incident, including those who had to cancel shows because of it.
