Nobody can say that Billy Ray and wife Tish Cyrus didn't try: Back in 2010, the country star filed for divorce from his wife of nearly two decades. He dropped the filing in early 2011, saying that he was ready to work on his marriage. But now, Tish has decided it's time to end the partnership, and it appears Billy Ray is on board.

Both husband and wife have requested privacy in their personal matter. Billy Ray issued a statement on Thursday, stating, "This is a personal matter and we are doing what is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time."

Billy Ray, 51, and Tish, 53, have been married for 19 years and have three children together --pop star Miley, 20, Braison, 19, and Noah, 13. Billy Ray also adopted Brandi, 26, and rock musician Trace, 24, Tish's children from a previous relationship.

Back in 2011, Billy Ray told the hosts of The View that he was committed to working on his marriage. "I've dropped the divorce," he said, to applause from the audience. "I want to put my family back together." He also clarified his relationship with daughter Miley, saying it was improving, and that he didn't blame the pressures of Disney or its hit vehicle Hannah Montana for his internal family issues.

In her 2009 autobiography Miles To Go, Miley Cyrus described her parents as "homebodies" who rarely entertained or went to parties, preferring family time instead. "They liked to be with each other and us," she noted.
