But here's something that's brand new: Shelton apparently is holding an even more important role at the ceremony--he'll actually be marrying Clarkson and Blackstock!
Yup, Shelton will be conducting the wedding, and this isn't the first time he's performed such a role. "He's done it before," Clarkson told Entertainment Tonight, adding that Shelton will also be presiding over Pistol Annies member Ashley Monroe's upcoming wedding. (Monroe's bandmate is Shelton's wife, Miranda Lambert.)
When ET's Nancy O'Dell jokingly asked if Shelton--who's infamous for his image as a tipsy, outspoken joker--will be in sober enough shape to handle such an important task, Clarkson laughed and said, "He plays that [drunken] persona up, but he's very serious...he can be very sentimental."
Clarkson also revealed that she's making fast headway on wedding plans ("I picked everything super quick"), but that she and Blackstock haven't been able to pin down a date yet due to everyone's busy schedules.
That's not too hard to believe: In addition to the bride, groom, and officiant's packed calendars, there are additional family agendas to work in. Blackstock's father, Narvel, is Clarkson's manager; and his stepmother is country superstar/actress Reba McEntire.
