There's been a lot of attention on Miranda Lambert's beautiful and unique bridal style for her wedding to Blake Shelton last Saturday. But--we think it's time to take a look at the groom in all of this.
Specifically, let's examine Shelton's style evolution. Now, Blake is a really good-looking guy. You can see it plainly in the wedding photo that US Weekly debuted, and is featuring on their latest cover. He's certainly looking sharp and right on trend--casual but cool.
Shelton's devoted fans, however, probably are aware that this is his second wedding--he said "I do" 8 years ago to his then-girlfriend Kaynette Williams (the pair divorced in 2006). And, well, he looked a tad bit different back then. Check out this cover of Country Weekly from January 2004:
Now, don't get me wrong. Shelton still is one handsome "some beach" in that photo. I actually love that he sported jeans at both his weddings, and the cowboy look is timeless. However, unlike Billy Ray Cyrus, I doubt Shelton's singing "I want my mullet back"! (Hey...we all tried out some fun styles in our 20s, right?)
Some things never do change, however. A Country Weekly news item from late 2004 featured a little anecdote from Shelton about a hunting trip that he had to cut short for work commitments. He shot a deer, but didn't have the time to find it or take it home. So, guess who stepped in and did the duty? Yep, his then-wife.
Shelton's quote on the matter is pure Blake-ismic: "When your wife will go out and drag a deer home for ya, that's true love."
Somehow I'm willing to bet Miranda--a girl who shot venison for her own wedding dinner--would go out in the woods and drag that deer home for him, too. Dontcha think?
Congrats again to the newlyweds! And Blake, we think you're great no matter where your style takes you!
As always, be sure to:
