Exclusive! Hear A Track From Kenny Chesney’s Upcoming New Album

Kenny Chesney's eagerly awaited new album, Welcome To The Fishbowl, hits stores officially on Tuesday this week. However, we at Yahoo! Music have a never-before-heard preview of one of the tracks off the album which you can listen to a day early.

The tune we've got for you, "El Cerrito Place," is intriguing not only for its searching, raw lyrics (Chesney told Billboard he was "haunted" by the song) and Chesney's own personal connection to the song--he tells us he very much relates to the "certain longing" and bit of "insanity" that is portrayed in its story. It's also interesting for the fact that it was recorded nearly a decade earlier by another artist country fans will recognize: Charlie Robison, also known as the ex-husband of Dixie Chick Emily Robison.

So now, you can stump your friends with the question "What common thread do the Dixie Chicks and Kenny Chesney share?"--have fun! And, of course, enjoy a first listen to Chesney's stellar take on this subtle, wistful ballad. It'll be here for 24 hours, after which you can listen to the entire album at his official website. Be sure to let me know what you think of the song!

Chesney is currently on the road with Tim McGraw on the blowout Brothers of the Sun stadium tour--this is the first time in his career he's launched an album and a tour at the same time. Read more about his summer plans in our exclusive interview here, and keep up with his schedule here.
