Faith Hill’s Back For ‘Sunday Night,’ Recording First New Album In Years

Our Country

Guys like football. (Girls do, too.) Guys like Faith Hill. (Girls do, too.) Whether they like Faith Hill to look at or listen to is irrelevant. So, given all this--is it any surprise Hill is once again going to be associated with NBC's Sunday Night Football this year?

It's just been announced that the superstar singer will be performing the opening theme for Sunday Night Football for the fifth year in a row. For the 2011-2012 season, the song is titled "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," and it's set to the tune of Joan Jett's classic rocker "I Hate Myself For Loving You."

Hill's theme will debut September 11, the first Sunday Night Football broadcast of 2011 (featuring the Cowboys vs. the Jets) and will continue welcoming viewers weekly for the entire season.

"Faith Hill has become a staple of Sunday Night Football," notes the show's producer Fred Gaudelli. "And in year five she's better than ever."

Hill herself is equally enthusiastic. "I wait all year for Sunday Night," she explains.

In other exciting news, according to Hill's official site, she's finally back in the studio at work on what will be her first release of new music in six years. Talk about waiting years for something! No word yet on when the new material is expected to be released, but I'll be sure to keep you posted as news rolls in.
