When Toby Keith announced he'd be helming up a super-star-studded benefit concert for his tornado-ravaged home state of Oklahoma, country fans all thrilled at the initial bill: fellow Okies Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, and Ronnie Dunn; as well as Texas neighbor Willie Nelson. However, Keith's just added a new name that will have some seeing "red."
"When Toby asked me to come on board, I immediately said yes!" noted Hagar. "He's put together a hell of a concert lineup to help raise funds for the brave and resilient people of Oklahoma. My job is going to be to help them take their minds off their problems and have some much-needed, good old-fashioned fun."
One thing's for sure: The red Solo cups will be extra appropriate now!
In addition to Hagar, Keith also announced this week that Mel Tillis and John Anderson will be joining the July 6 show, dubbed "the Oklahoma Twister Relief Concert" and taking place at the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
Tickets for the show are all $25 and go on sale June 21. Proceeds will go to the United Way of Central Oklahoma May Tornadoes Relief Fund. Can't attend the benefit but still want to help? Direct donation options are available at United Way of Central Oklahoma.
