'Tis the season to be...efficient? Well, that's how it's looking next month for the Country Music Association, which is using the occasion of the annual CMA Awards on November 10 to also squeeze in a taping of a star-studded country Christmas special the very next day.
Santa Claus must consider such practical time management very, very good behavior indeed, for the show is already slated to have a stocking's full of the very best country performers available.LeAnn Rimes, Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley, Martina McBride, Little Big Town, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, and Sugarland. Not a bad Christmas list at all, I'd say.
The artists will reportedly be joined by some of their own family members onstage, and will share their personal holiday traditions and stories with the audience, as well as perform songs "sure to warm your heart." (I'm guessing there will be a carol or two in there.)
The special will air November 29 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC--just in time to get everyone in the mood for you-know-what. Just in case your local shopping mall, Target, and Walmart already haven't done that three weeks ago...okay, okay, I'll stop being a scrooge.
Do you have a particular holiday tune you'd love to hear your favorite country artist perform on this special? Don't tell anyone but I'm asking Santa if he can convince Sugarland to do "Mr. Heat Miser" (which they somehow unfortunately missed on last year's Gold And Green holiday album). That would truly make my year. Let me know what's on your list!
As always, be sure to:
