When you're a teenage girl with one of the most notoriously overprotective fathers on the planet, what boy do you dare invite to your Sweet 16? Well, if you're "Duck Dynasty"'s Sadie Robertson, you just call on squeaky-clean "American Idol" season 10 winner Scotty McCreery!

The Robertson family was happy to welcome McCreery (who took a short break from his current tour) to Louisiana for the special day, not only to play at Sadie's party, but to partake in a full redneck romp — including off-roading with brother John Luke and sampling matriarch Kay's fried shrimp and banana pudding.

The highlight of the day, however, was certainly Sadie's party. After playing "Man of Constant Sorrow" for the crowd ("Willie and John Luke joined us on stage. That was pretty funny," McCreery noted), the 19-year-old singer joined the crowd in a full-on dance party, including a spin with the birthday girl.

As fans of "DD" might surmise, it can't be the easiest task to be grooving under the watchful eye of "Daddy's Got A Gun" Willie, who has gone so far as to veto Sadie's prom dress choices in the past. However, the gentlemanly Idol managed not to incur any parental wrath — and, despite protesting that he has zero dance skills, kept his cool admirably throughout.

Sadie ended up tweeting "This boy made my birthday the best day of my life! So thankful that he came down for my party!" Awww. We're sure the two are just friends, but we can't imagine even Willie would disapprove of this young man as a potential suitor.

The singer and the younger Robertson initially forged a friendship while exchanging tweets online, eventually meeting for the first time early last month when McCreery invited her family to see him play at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry. The clan all seem to be big McCreery admirers: Sadie's mom Korie announced via Twitter on Monday that the "American Idol" will be joining the family for their 2014 Duck Commander Cruise, a four-night Caribbean sail that allows fans to meet the cast of the hit reality show.
