Stars-And-Stripes-Clad Carrie Underwood Makes Patriotism Sexy

Our Country

Who wears short shorts? Well, Carrie Underwood's certainly been having a good run with them lately! The leggy "American Idol" sported a sexy mint-green pair at the CMT Awards last week, and followed that up with an even more daring pair of patriotic cutoffs Sunday at Nashville's Country Music Association Fest.

Underwood topped off her stars and stripes (designed by hip boho line Gypsy Junkies)  with a variety of rockin' accessories, including studded boots and a leather headband, for a look that added up to classic American biker babe.

The blond superstar ditched her sweet country style for a similar rocker-girl vibe late last month, when she was a special guest at the Rolling Stones' show in Toronto. There, Underwood showed off a little patriotism as well, in the form of her star-spangled Stones-logo t-shirt.

Of course, Underwood always knows how to class it up when the occasion arises. Her newest video, "See You Again," pays tribute to recent American tragedies including May's devastating tornado damage in her home state of Oklahoma. In it, the singer reserves all stars and stripes for the actual American flag, donning an angelic and demure white gown instead.
