Taylor Swift Purchases Cape Cod Home Across From Kennedys
The news is barely out there that Taylor Swift is dating Conor Kennedy--of the iconic Kennedy clan--but the blond superstar seems to be already "wonderstruck" by the relationship. According to various reports this week, she's gone ahead and purchased a Cape Cod mansion which is across the street from Conor's grandmother Ethel Kennedy.
Swift paid around $4.9 million for the property, which overlooks Nantucket Sound and features a luxurious seven bedrooms and five bathrooms. Housing blog Zillow confirmed the listing and posted a slate of breathtaking photos of the traditionally styled home. According to People, a local realtor claimed Swift even got a fair deal on the place.
The waterfront area of Swift's new pad houses the historic Kennedy Compound, which served as a base for John F. Kennedy's presidential campaign more than 50 years ago.
The singer, 22, has a well-publicized history of falling head-over-heels for various boyfriends du jour (her track record includes Joe Jonas, John Mayer, Taylor Lautner, and Jake Gyllenhaal); so her latest maneuver may not surprise fans. However, this particular romance appears to have more facets to it than her previous entanglements.
Swift's been in the news repeatedly this year for her activities with the Kennedy family. She was previously rumored to be dating Patrick Schwarzenegger (son of Kennedy scion Maria Shriver) after being photographed with him and the Kennedy clan over the Fourth of July holiday.
After disputing the romance, she was then linked to Conor Kennedy, 18, who is the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and late wife Mary. Photos cropped up earlier this month of the pair dining with Swift's parents in Nashville.
Swift additionally seems to have the approval of the tight-knit Kennedys. Conor's aunt Rory Kennedy and grandma Ethel have both spoken glowingly of the star, with Ethel even going so far to say that the clan would be "lucky" to have her as an addition.
Swift's main residence is a condo in Nashville; she also owns a house in Beverly Hills, which she purchased last year.
