Trisha Yearwood Lands Cooking Show On Food Network

Fans of Trisha Yearwood know very well that the Grammy-winning entertainer can do a lot more than just sing. She's quite the chef as well, with two bestselling cookbooks under her apron ties.

And now, Yearwood's going to be even busier in the kitchen--she's just signed a deal to star in her own daytime cooking show for the Food Network.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show is not yet titled, but Yearwood will appear in six themed episodes in which she whips up everything from Sunday dinners to family-reunion barbecues. Also promised are glimpses into Yearwood's own kitchen, as well as "family stories" for fans to enjoy.

The show is currently in production in Nashville, and set to premiere in April.

"I'm so grateful to Food Network for the opportunity to share my family's favorite recipes and precious memories in this show," Yearwood said in a statement. "I'm having so much fun, it's a very special experience."

Oh, and will her husband--that would be Mr. Garth Brooks, of course--be making any cameo appearances on the show? There's no word on that. Although if she happens to whip up one of those famous (or would that be infamous?) "Garth's breakfast bowls"--a calorie-laden concoction featured in her book Home Cooking With Trisha Yearwood--all bets are off!

Will you be tuning in to Trisha's new show? Be sure to let me know!
