When NBC announced that Carrie Underwood would be replacing the exiting Faith Hill as the new voice of "Sunday Night Football," fans were understandably eager to hear Underwood's take on "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night."

Underwood herself has been anxious to show fans she's capable of filling Hill's stilettos, telling CMT last month that she "can't wait" to start her new role introducing the weekly game. A snippet of Underwood's version has finally been released, so music/football fans can now judge for themselves which gorgeous blonde delivers the tune more skillfully!

We think Underwood mainly distinguishes herself here by putting a bit more rock edge into the iconic track (which is a rework of Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself For Loving You"). However, she's smart enough to not completely change up the delivery of what is, essentially, a big part of a tradition in many households across the nation. What do you all think?

Underwood took over the "SNF" theme song when Hill announced she was ready to pass the torch after six seasons on the job. She was reportedly the first and only consideration to replace Hill.
