Just when my Yahoo! Entertainment colleague Matt Whitfield and I had finally recovered from that crazy night when Casey Abrams was almost cut (aka The Most Dramatic Results Show Ever), another jaw-dropping, heart-stopping "American Idol" elimination episode came around last night and slapped us right upside our heads. And today, we are still in shock. Did Pia Toscano REALLY get eliminated this week?
While we never thought Pia was a shoo-in to win this thing, we certainly thought she'd go a lot farther than ninth place. There are many theories regarding why a contestant who seemed to have it all and was widely considered to be one of this year's frontrunners went home so soon. And Matt and I discuss these theories in today's episode of "The Day After"!
Was it voter complacency? Song selection? Bad judges' advice? Unflattering L.A.M.B. onesies? A lack of big onscreen personality? Or, most likely, was it the white-knuckled stranglehold that America's text-voting tweens and speed-dialing cougars have on their at-the-ready cell phones?
The mind boggles. Watch and debate with us below...
