Blake Lewis’s “Sad Song”: A Reason To Be Happy!

It's no secret that I love me some Blake Lewis. I still think his Jon Bon Jovi-vexing interpretation of "You Give Love A Bad Name" was one of the best American Idol song-reworkings ever, and that his beatboxing duet with Doug E. Fresh in season 6 was the best American Idol finale duet outside of Adam Lambert's performance with Kiss.

So it gladdens my heart that Blake is returning with new music after being dropped to the frustrating and undeserved low sales of his rather underrated major-label debut, Audio Daydream. He's now signed to dance/hip-hop label Tommy Boy--a perfect fit for his fun, electro-pop sound--and he's just released a new single, "Sad Song," that is making me pretty damn happy right now:

Blake's new album, Heartbreak On Vinyl, comes out October 6!
