Paula cheers for her old friend Fik-Shun

On Tuesday, Paula Abdul finally guest-judged on "So You Think You Can Dance," a television event that the show's executive producer and head judge, Nigel Lythgoe, had been trying to orchestrate for 10 seasons. But while it was Paula's first time on "SYTYCD," she was already quite familiar with one of the show's contestants.

Vegas street performer DuShaunt "Fik-Shun" Stegall, a standout contestant on "SYTYCD" this year, actually competed on Paula's short-lived post-"American Idol"/pre-"X Factor" talent show, "Live to Dance," in 2011. Fik-Shun, who was just known as DuShaunt and was only 16 years old back then, wowed with his initial "Live to Dance" audition, but was eliminated in the semifinals.

Now Fik-Shun is quickly shaping up to be the man to beat on "SYTYCD" Season 10, and Paula could not have been more proud this week.

"You've come such a long way! I am so frickin' proud of you!" Paula gushed to her old protégé, after watching him dance a passionate paso doble with his partner, Amy Yakima.

Check out Fik-Shun's early performances on CBS's "Live to Dance" below, and see just how far he's come in the past two years. Paula definitely has reason to be proud.
