Reality Flashback: Miranda Lambert On ‘Nashville Star’

Reality Rocks

This week, Miranda Lambert made country music history when she was nominated for nine Country Music Association awards, nearly tying Alan Jackson's all-time record of 10 CMA nods and scoring the highest nominations tally for any female artist ever. With success--both critical and commercial--like that, Miranda has done what probably all former reality show contestants aspire to do: She's made the public completely forget that she was ever on a reality show.

Considering all that she's achieved since, it's hard to remember now that Miranda first came to fame in 2003 on the first season of "Nashville Star"...and it's even harder to comprehend that she didn't win, but placed third behind Buddy Jewell and John Arthur Martinez (neither of whom earned any CMA nominations this year, to my knowledge!). Miranda's success gives hope to any talent show contestant who doesn't win, and even to some who have won.

To celebrate Miranda's CMA nominations sweep, below are a few flashback clips from her humble early days on "Nashville Star." But obviously, she's a real Nashville star now.
