Sarah Sellers, one of "American Idol' Season 10's most-robbed contestants and food blogger extraordinaire, has been posting her "Idol" viewing party snack recipes here all season, crafting menus that correspond to each week's "Idol" theme: soul food for Motown Week, British pub grub for Elton Week, Elvis-inspired fritters for Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Week, nachos and pizza for Movie Week, and so on. But since veggie/organic fare has been one of this decade's biggest food trends, for this week's "Songs Of The 21st Century" theme, she's serving healthy, simple snacks, like last night's chicken & shrimp lettuce wraps.

Who knew watching TV could be so good for you? Indulge sans guilt with Chef Sellers' latest nourishing nosh.

Black Bean & Avocado Sliders

▪ 1 serrano chile, minced
▪ 1 large garlic clove, minced
▪ 3 tbsp shallot, minced
▪ 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
▪ 1 egg
▪ 1 tsp chili powder
▪ 1 tsp cumin
▪ 1/4 tsp kosher salt
▪ 1/8 tsp cracked pepper
▪ 15oz container black beans, drained & rinsed (reserve some of the liquid)
▪ 1 cup frozen corn kernels, defrosted
▪ 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
▪ 8 whole wheat slider buns
▪ 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
▪ avocado, sliced
▪ salsa

1. Mix the first 9 ingredients (through the pepper) in a large bowl until well-combined. Add the black beans and corn, and mash with a potato masher or fork. If the mixture is too dry, add some of the reserved black bean liquid. Form into 8 patties the size of the slider buns.

2. Heat the oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties in batches for around 3 minutes on each side.

3. Top the patties with the salsa, avocado slices, and cilantro.
