Totally Robbed ‘Voice’ Contestants The Shields Brothers Rawk On With Totally Awesome Cee Lo Cover

I was flipping the devil-horns for righteous rawkers the Shields Brothers, the Bill & Ted of "The Voice" Season 2, ever since they auditioned with an unapologetically shambolic cover of Billy Idol's "Dancing With Myself--a wonderfully, ridiculously over-the-top performance complete with purple motorcycle jackets, socket-shocked Flock Of Seagulls hair, and an oft-repeated catchphrase,"Punching America In The Face With Rock 'N' Roll," that would have looked bitchen on the T-shirt I was already planning to buy from the merch booth at this summer's Voice Concert Tour. But quite un-rockingly, that was not meant to be: Their coach Cee Lo Green stupidly sent them home last night, opting to keep their lesser Battle Rounds partner Erin Martin instead--presumably because Erin filled out her garter belt a lot more nicely than the Shields dudes filled out their leather Fonzie jackets.

But the Brothers have left their crestfallen fans with a parting gift: a viral cover of Cee Lo's "Forget You" that salutes their ex-coach and his furry friend Mr. Purrfect.

Honestly, I think the Bros should have covered the more vitriolic "F*** You" version of the song, to speak for all outraged "Voice" viewers who disagree with Cee Lo's controversial decision. But either way, I'm stoked that the Shieldses haven't let this "Voice" setback dampen their rock 'n' roll spirit.
