‘Voice’ Duo Midas Whale Bring Their Golden Touch to Yahoo!

Midas Whale, aka former "American Idol" finalist Jon Peter Lewis and his songwriting partner, geologist Ryan Hayes, were one of the most interesting and unique contenders on "The Voice" Season 4. Sadly, Team Adam's awesome twosome did not go as far on the show as I would have liked…but happily, Midas fans like myself didn't have to wait long to hear new music from these guys.

Almost immediately after Jon and Ryan were tragically knocked out in "The Voice's" Knockout Rounds, they hit the Interweb, launching a successful Kickstarter campaign (which met, then surpassed, its $30,000 goal way ahead of schedule) and releasing a charmingly homespun music video for "Howling at the Moon."

When Midas Whale visited Yahoo! Music recently to play a couple other new tunes and give a hilarious interview (covering such hot topics as rock operas, puppet shows, death, the Swon Brothers, geology, and Pinocchio), Jon got serious and revealed: "['The Voice' powers-that-be] haven't gotten in our way. They've allowed us to grow as artists more than I think any other show [including 'Idol'] ever would have."

Midas Whale's entire delightful interview is well worth watching, but be sure to play part 2 for exclusive, exciting news about a new project they're working on with some fellow "Voice" alums. If you have "Deep Love" for Midas Whale and "The Voice," you're going to be very pleased.
