Madonna’s insane “MDNA” backstage tour demands

Apparently, she wasn't kidding when she dubbed herself the "Material Girl."

New reports of Madonna's alleged, and extensive, "MDNA" backstage rider (list of demands) have surfaced revealing that the music icon aims to create a "home away from home" while on the road.

According to gossip magazine In Touch Weekly, items including a team of "a whopping 200-person entourage including 30 bodyguards, personal chefs, a yoga instructor, an acupuncturist and even an on-site dry cleaner," are just the tip of the iceberg.

In addition, the famed "Vogue" singer also requests that her dressing room be complete with "20 international phone lines, be draped in a special fabric and filled with lilies and white and light-pink roses that have stems trimmed to precisely six inches."

An insider also reveals to the magazine that the 53-year-old's hotel room must have a homey feel and achieves this by having it's furniture replaced with Madonna's own personal pieces that she has brought in.

According to the Daily Star, "Madonna has probably the longest list of requirements of any of the world's music stars. She expects things to be just right or it puts her off her stage show."

However, if this list of demands is true, are they that far off from the requests of other high calibre touring acts? Of course not!

While on tour, Kanye West has previously requested that there be "imported and recut Versace towels on hand," and, "He demands that any drivers ferrying him are clad in 100 per cent cotton. No man-made fibres," according to Entertainment Weekly.

Also, in the past R&B star Mary J. Blige has requested that her dressing room have a brand new toilet seat for her personal dressing room in every venue that she performs in. Which subsequently amounted to 35 toilet seats from 35 different cities.

Therefore, Madonna's demands, although on the extravagant side, are not that far off from other stars' demands in the industry like Jennifer Lopez's "demand for a trailer at least 40 feet long, furnished all in white (flowers, tablecloths, drapes, candles, and couches)." And, Janet Jackson's stipulation that there be "fresh ice for drinks, specifying 'NO FISH ICE.'"
