Beyoncé Sings National Anthem Live At Super Bowl Press Conference

Stop The Presses!

Beyoncé lives up to her Baddiebey Instagram handle.

The Grammy-winning singer and Super Bowl halftime performer sang the National Anthem acappella as she kicked off her press conference for Sunday’s football game at the Mercedez-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

Beyoncé’s live rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” was a response to critics who questioned whether she lip-synched the song at President Barack Obama’s inauguration last week.

After her performance, she admitted to using a backing track while singing at the inauguration. But she maintained that she sang along with the recording.

Beyoncé added that she would not be using any pre-recorded vocals for her Super Bowl concert.

“I will absolutely be singing live,” Beyoncé said during the press conference held at the New Orleans Convention Center, USA Today reports.

Beyoncé said she used the recording because she wanted her performance to be perfect.

“I practice until my feet bleed and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra,” she said. “Due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the president and the inauguration, and I wanted to make him and my country proud, so I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I’m very proud of my performance.”
