Imagine some of the best acts of the past year playing their hit songs, one act after the other. OK, now picture that best-of performance accompanied by a constant stream of high-fashion models in lingerie and bikinis walking around the stage. Say what?! Well, a lot of high school hipster-boy fantasies came true on Monday, when European lingerie company Etam orchestrated just that.

Kicking off Paris couture week, the line celebrated its relaunch with a runway extravaganza featuring stadium-style seating and performances by Boy George, the Kills, the Gossip's Beth Ditto, Janelle Monae, Miike Snow frontman Andrew Wyatt, French rapper Joey Starr of Suprême NTM, Karen Elson, and Spank Rock, all backed by Mark Ronson & The Business INTL. The show must've been like watching a ping-pong tournament, the audience glancing back and forth between models and musicians.

With this, Etam threw down a clear challenge to the annual Victoria's Secret fashion show webcast that attracts fashion- and cleavage-loving viewers from around the world and features multiple musical performances. Although there wasn't a million-dollar diamond-encrusted bra in sight, Etam's own webcast brought an undeniable cool factor that Victoria has yet to achieve (even DJ duo Justice was in the audience). The performers were keenly picked, as most of them have their individual ties to the catwalk:

-While Mark Ronson brought back the pencil-slim mod suit in the biggest way, his younger sister Charlotte designs her own namesake fashion label.

-Beth Ditto, who wears a size 24 dress, has graced the covers of fashion magazines, walked the runway for designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, and even charmed the current godfather of fashion, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, into designing custom pieces for her (despite his open disdain for women larger than size zero).

-Janelle Monae is known for her signature onstage tuxedo look and retro-futuristic style. In her "Many Moons" video, variably clad clones of Monae have their own runway show, with looks right out of the Great Gatsby's wardrobe.

-A fledgling musician her whole life, Karen Elson cut her teeth on the most coveted runways, ad campaigns, and magazine covers as a wildly successful top model. In 2005 she married Jack White of the White Stripes et al, who produced her debut solo album.

-Andrew Wyatt produced exclusive tracks for designer label Theory's first digital lookbook video.

-Besides being a fashion pioneer for his entire career, Boy George also has his own punk-influenced clothing label called B-Rude.

-The Kills' guitarist Jamie Hince has been dating supermodel Kate Moss for several years, and is a fixture at fashion events and in the U.K. tabloids.

It's only natural that this incredible fusion of cultural genres was made, because what would music be without fashion, and vice versa? Daft Punk without helmets? ZZ Top without beards? Lady Gaga without her, well, everything? Not the kind of world I want to live in.

The Etam show setlist:

"Heavy Cross" - Beth Ditto

"Pose Ton Gun" - Joey Starr

"Cheap and Cheerful" - The Kills

"Tightrope" - Janelle Monae

"The Ghost Who Walks" - Karen Elson

"Somebody to Love Me" - Mark Ronson, Boy George & Andrew Wyatt

"Bang Bang Bang" - Mark Ronson, Spank Rock (filling in for Q-Tip's part) & the Business INTL female vocalist (filling in for MNDR)
