Rihanna, who is scheduled to perform at the Grammys Sunday, joined Chris Brown in court Wednesday, the Associated Press reports.
Brown is being accused of violating his parole from his 2009 felony assault on the “Diamonds” singer. According to a motion filed at the Superior Court Of The State Of California For The County Of Los Angeles on Tuesday, Brown may not have completed his required 180 days of community service.
The District Attorney’s office is asking the court to “find the Defendant in violation of the terms of his probation,” according to the legal document.
Rihanna and Brown reportedly exited the courtroom arm in arm. TMZ reports that Brown looked “dejected” while Rihanna attempted to lift his spirits.
The news site added that Rihanna blew Brown a kiss before entering court and sat behind him during the proceedings.
Brown intends to fight the claims. Before the hearing, Brown’s attorney formally opposed the accusations. Brown is due back in court on April 5.
