Stop The Presses!

Toby Lightman Invites You To Her ‘Snow Day’

Stop The Presses!

Hard to believe 2010 is zooming by so quickly, but with Thanksgiving just a mere two weeks away--it's already that time of year. Yep, time to get into the holiday spirit!

Not quite ready to face the malls, eggnogs, and lines to visit Santa? No problem; we're here to help. One of the easiest ways to get into a merry and bright mood is listening to holiday music--and, if you're a bit bored of the traditional fare, we've got that covered as well.

ABC's Music Lounge has compiled some brand-new and distinctly modern holiday tunes from a roster of cutting edge/up-and-coming artists--in other words, songs that are definitely not your grandma's Burl Ives, but still guaranteed to make you feel nice and holly-jolly. These original songs are part of a live performance series we'll be featuring weekly from now until the end of the year, so be sure to check back often to make sure your holiday music experience is complete.

First up on the roster is Toby Lightman, a singer-songwriter/indie label founder whose music you may have heard on such shows as Brothers & Sisters and Dirty Sexy Money. Her warm and upbeat composition, "Snow Day," celebrates that great vibe you get "when work is closed, and school is closed, and you can frolic and play."

As Lightman says: "It's the best time of year," and I'm sure you'll get in the same frame of mind watching this clip.
