Chris Brown Might Have to Redo His Community Service

Just because Rihanna has taken him back (and then let him go again, for now) doesn't mean Chris Brown is out of the woods. Wearing a white suit and accompanied by his mother, the singer appeared in court on Monday to deal with an alleged probation violation connected to a 2009 assault charge involving his on-again, off-again pop star girlfriend.

But wasn't that whole mess settled ages ago?

Yes, but court required Brown to do a 180 days of community service — and if he didn’t complete them, then, technically, it isn't settled. Now (drumroll please) it sounds like he may not have held up his end of the bargain.

According to court documents, during the time that the star was slated to be performing his community service in Virginia, he was actually spotted at a charity event in another state, and also on vacation in Mexico. Oops.

Not surprisingly, the L.A. District Attorney is none to pleased with Brown's supposed antics and is requesting that the judge order the star to redo all 180 days of his sentence — but this time in Los Angeles.

Nothing has been decided just yet, but Brown is due back in court on July 15.

We'll have to wait and see if Rihanna shows up for that round. She came to support him during his appearance back in January — even though his five-year probation for assaulting her hadn't ended yet — but she was notably absent this time. Maybe she's finally had enough of the drama with Brown (who's been partying with his ex Karrueche Tran lately).

Then again, maybe not.
