Deranged Fan Threatens to Murder Miranda Kerr

A Massachusetts man, who is believed to be mentally ill, is in jail after allegedly threatening to fly to Los Angeles to murder Miranda Kerr.

East Sandwich resident Steven C. Swanson, 52, called the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and told them that he planned to travel to California with two .45-caliber handguns to kill the model, according to the Cape Cod Times. He referred to the Australian beauty, who has a 2-year-old son with husband Orlando Bloom, as his "soulmate."

Swanson had his travel itinerary for the trip to Los Angeles planned out and threatened to "turn the place upside down" when he arrived.

Luckily, things didn’t get that far. The LASD alerted authorities on the East Coast and Sandwich police arrested him early Wednesday morning at his home on a felony charge of making a threat concerning a firearm. When police arrived, they found photos of the soon-to-be retired Victoria's Secret Angel on his bookshelf, refrigerator, and even his microwave. They did not find the .45-caliber handguns, but they confiscated a pellet gun "due to it looking like a real pistol."

Swanson didn't repeat his death threats to the officers when they were in his home ― instead he told them he was planning to travel to Los Angeles to save Kerr, whom he referred to as his "wife." He also claimed to be a federal agent.

At his arraignment in Barnstable District Court on Wednesday, Swanson pleaded not guilty. The judge ordered him committed for psychiatric evaluation and set his bail at $8,000. In court, a doctor ― whose name was not released ― testified that Swanson suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and had been off his medication since March.

Swanson is due back in court on July 19 for a pretrial hearing.

Reps for Kerr, 30, have not yet responded to omg!'s request for comment about the scary situation. However, it seems to be business as usual for the beauty, who stepped out over the weekend looking stunning in an undergarment exposing red lace dress. The incident didn't cause her to sign off of social media sites either — she's continued to post daily messages and photos to her nearly two million Twitter fans.
