As Yahoo! On the Road trundles across America (and planning a hop, skip and jump to Europe) to pass out tickets to (a jampacked spring schedule of concerts), the crew has also been showing off new apps like Weather. Chances are, if you check it out, you'll see temperatures starting to climb — but the question is, will they be anything like last year's scorchers?

Last June, the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) head guru predicted to Yahoo! that higher-than-normal temperatures would come, thanks to a one-two punch from El Nino and La Nina. Sure enough, regions sweltered in the triple digits, airplanes sunk into melted runways, and wildfires broke out.

But this year, flurries put a freeze to the start of spring in many states: People built snowmen in Arkansas, Kansas City players were tossing snowballs instead of fastballs when a blizzard cancelled their game with the Tampa Bay Rays, and Duluth, Minn., shivered through its snowiest April on record.

  • FDUETS - "Photobombing" is fun, but music fans much prefer concertbombing -- when surprise guests turn up at fellow artists' concerts for one-night-only cameos. These unexpected duets prove the longtime maxim about the essentiality of live performance: You had to be there. That's a truism that's only partly mitigated by the fact that nowadays every fan is rushing to get home to put the proof that they were there on YouTube.

Yahoo! Answers users have been sharing their unexpected concert stories here (Bruce Springsteen bringing out Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain reacting to broken guitar strings, meteor showers and more), and Yahoo!'s On the Road concert series promises its share of these surprise moments, with artists like Imagine Dragons, John Legend, the Lumineers, Fall Out Boy, fun., Kendrick Lamar, and Macklemore & Lewis headed out to help make the summer of '13 the summer of loving live music.

To celebrate the power of disparate performers teaming up, here's a look at some of the already

  • Imagine Dragons Floors, Owl City Soars in St. Louis

The "Show Me" state of Missouri showed Yahoo! On The Road an awesome time on Wednesday night by singing/screaming along to Imagine Dragons and Owl City! The purple caravan dropped in on a balmy St. Louis at the incredible Pageant theater in the Delmar Loop district -- the biggest venue on tour yet, and for good reason!

Plus, the backstage had a massive shrine of all the bras, underwear, and random sundries scrawled with frantic love messages thrown on stage over the years. Included in the Wall of Fame-Worship: An inflatable E.T. in a bike basket, a strap-on baby bump, and a full window mannequin, in a bikini of course.

  • Yahoo! On the Road: World Record Challenge

Ben Lyons interviews Clinton Shepherd, who is attempting to set the world record for longest Ferris wheel ride at Chicago's Navy Pier on May 17. Shepherd hopes to last 48 hours without falling asleep -- but surprisingly, he won't be going without too many of the comforts of home.

  • Imagine Dragons once played a six-hour set at a small casino in their hometown of Las Vegas. During the last song, lead singer Dan Reynolds passed out in the middle and woke up a few moments later. He finished the song to a standing ovation. Now Imagine Dragons is selling out shows across the world and will perform on Wednesday, May 15, for Yahoo! On the Road. Here are five songs to listen to and look forward to in their much shorter set list.

On Top of the World -- This upbeat jingle has been featured in commercials, video game soundtracks, and movies, and was even sung by the PS22 chorus at the 2013 presidential inauguration.

It’s Time (Passion Pit Remix) -- By far Imagine Dragons’ most popular song, but check out this Passion Pit remix, which adds a new layer to the song.

Radioactive -- This cross between rock and dubstep is the band’s first song to reach the top 10 on Billboard’s Top 100.

Demons -- A slightly darker song from the upbeat album, it adds depth to the band.
