An Inceptive iPod Touch Playlist

The Y! Music Playlist Blog

I have resisted the siren call of Steve Jobs and his uber-seductive iPod devices for years. I have a painful gag reflex whenever I think about the iTunes/iPod proprietary music file format and Apple's stranglehold on the industry. But the charms of the iPod's design and reliability are undeniable. I have fought the battle valiantly, but have finally succumb to the Apple juggernaut. I have purchased an 16gig iPod Touch.

Honestly, it was not the music playing ability that finally sucked me in, but the incredible touch screen interface and a plethora of applications that will help me in everyday life.

I'll continue to use Rhapsody/Sansa/Sonos for the vast majority of my music discovery and listening, but now that I have an iPod I've loaded some music on it. Since the iPod's capacity is limited, I had to be ultra-selective about which albums I loaded. I've only pulled in albums that I simply cannot live without. I ended up loading 7gigs of music and then created this playlist.

Many people have asked me to provide more insight into my personal music tastes and listening habits, and while this is in no way a complete view, this playlist is a glimpse into some music that I hold dear.

If you haven't heard some of these songs, I highly recommend each and every one of them. What 15 songs, or albums do you require on your iPod?
