This afternoon, Britney Spears debuted "Ooh La La," her song for the upcoming Smurfs 2 soundtrack. Now that you've heard it, just try to get it out of your head.
Produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Ammo, the sugary pop tune is one of the most kid-friendly thing Britney's done since she herself was a little girl. To appeal to the dancefloor crowd, it even features a half-minute breakdown of staccato electronic beats and distorted vocals, preparing listeners for the inevitable return to the chorus.
"I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans ever," Spears said in a statement last month, when the track was announced. "I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie."
The Smurfs 2, starring Katy Perry as Smurfette, hits theaters July 31, and "Ooh La La" will play over the movie's closing credits. Spears will be in the studio this summer working on album number eight with executive producer Will.i.am, who collaborated with her on the hit "Scream & Shout."
