It’s no secret that the music industry continues to be dominated by men—both on the charts and behind the scenes. However, more women continue to take a stand in hopes of turning things around. Taking over the charts is only half the battle.

While on tour, pop star Charli XCX decided to take matters into her own hands to get a deeper look at the female perspective. Charli tackles the F-word (feminism) and tries to answer the age old question, “What’s it like to be a woman in the music industry?” in her new 42-minute BBC documentary titled The F-Word and Me.
