Fall Out Boy Rise Like 'Phoenix' on 'Fallon'

Rolling Stone

Fall Out Boy have always shown a flair for the dramatic, and their performance last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon was no exception. There were no skeleton costumes or the like when the rockers stormed through their booming new single, "The Phoenix," but the band played the song like their career depended on it. Vocalist Patrick Stump sang with fierce intensity over a pounding beat and bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley shouted out a refrain and led the crowd in hand claps. "The Phoenix" comes from Fall Out Boy's latest album, Save Rock and Roll, the band's first release after a four-year hiatus.
