Florida Georgia Line vs. Jimmy Buffett: Vote For the Best Summer Songs, Round 2

Summer is here, and the time is right for dancing in the streets. But what's the best summer song to soundtrack such activities? We here at Y! Music decided to hold a mega-poll to answer that (sun)burning summer question: a no-holds-barred tournament to determine the best summer anthem of all time.

After lots of heated (pun intended) debate, we've selected 32 of the most memorable summer songs ever, pitting them against each other in a winner-takes-all bracket. Scroll down to vote for this match-up!

"Cruise" - Florida Georgia Line

Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" won out over Little Big Town's "Pontoon" with 60% of votes.

There's no funny business in Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise." No indeed; there's absolutely nothing humorous about being declared the best-selling song by a country duo in digital history, a feat these two guys achieved in April…that's actually some pretty serious stuff right there. The song, which explores the simple concept of, well, cruising around in a truck with a hot chick for company, was also remixed as a pop version featuring rapper Nelly--thus sealing it as a summer jam for the masses, not just for the cowboys out there.

"Margaritaville" - Jimmy Buffett

Even with his competitor featured on his song, Alan Jackson's "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" lost to Jimmy Buffett's "Margaritaville", which took 67% of votes.

For those of you who are purists, and prefer your Buffett straight up and undiluted, there's always the classic, "Margaritaville." Buffett's written an impressive array of tunes incorporating alcoholic themes (including the efficient "Why Don't We Get Drunk"), but this 1977 song about wasting away while wasted in a beach town remains his defining moment and most popular single ever, with Jackson himself covering the song in 1999. Lest anyone forget, Margaritaville has also developed into its own brand, with everything from a restaurant chain to a clothing line bearing its name.
